Harrow Shanghai Pupils meet British Prime Minister, Theresa May

Last Friday, two lucky Harrow pupils were chosen to meet British Prime Minister, Theresa May, and her husband, Philip, at Yu Garden pavilions in Puxi. As Olivia Wang (Year 3) explains: “Last Friday I went to a paper cutting activity and I met Theresa May there. She is the British Prime Minister and she came to visit China for a few days. She came to meet us and help us to cut out some paper patterns. She cut some things for herself too.”

A photo of Olivia meeting the British Prime Minister even appeared in the Sunday Telegraph in the UK!

The other pupil chosen to go and meet the British Prime Minister was Xavier Keung (Year 1) who said “Mrs May came and lots of people took photos. We did paper cutting and we had to cut some butterflies, snowflakes and hearts. Then I cut a rabbit. Mrs May cut the Chinese character for “lucky” with red paper. There were 8 children, and it was lots of fun.”

Well done to Olivia and Xavier for representing the school so well.
