As the number “10” slowly took shape on the school lawn, the story of Harrow Shanghai’s tenth anniversary was illuminated in that very moment. It marks not only the passage of time, but a meaningful testament to the connections between people.
Together, forming this “10”
Guided by a shared vision and quiet coordination, staff and pupils from across the campus moved towards one common point.

White anniversary T-shirts, vibrant House colours—piece by piece, they came together to form a clear and powerful “10” on the grass. In that moment, there were no distinctions of year group or role. Everyone was an essential part of the picture.

As the aerial camera slowly rose, this number—formed by the entire Harrow community—became more than just a shape. It felt like a quiet yet resolute expression: we have journeyed through ten years together, and we will step into the next decade together.
From campus, to a greater “us”
If the “10” is a symbol, then the Family Day that followed brought this symbol to life. Under the theme “Together as One”, the 10th Anniversary Family Day extended the meaning of togetherness beyond the campus—into families and the wider community.

On a spring day, parents and children set off side by side, sharing moments that truly belonged to them: cycling together along a 3.5km route, exploring the “H” trail of growth and memories, participating in market and interactive experiences connecting sustainability with the real world, and expressing hopes for the next ten years.

There were no formal lessons, yet learning was happening everywhere. Through cycling, children discovered rhythm and perseverance. Through exploration, they developed observation and thinking. Through shared moments, they built a growing sense of security and confidence.

Ten years is a beginning
More importantly, it points to the future. From the “10” on the lawn, to every “H” along the cycling path, to each step taken side by side by children and parents–

these seemingly simple moments are all answering one question: In what kind of environment does a child truly grow?

Perhaps the answer is not found in a single lesson, nor in a single result, but in these authentic, lived experiences—in being respected, connected, and truly seen.

As the curtain slowly rises, Harrow Shanghai’s 10th anniversary celebrations have only just begun. And perhaps, the longer story ahead may begin one day—with a family’s choice.
