Leadership and Service
At Harrow Shanghai, cultivating and nurturing the leadership potential in every child is at the very heart of the journey we have designed for our pupils. By constantly exposing them, day by day, to opportunities which will challenge them intellectually, physically, emotionally and socially, both within and outside of the classroom, we watch them grow and flourish.
In order to enhance leadership and service opportunities, we immerse pupils in a programme which develops key skills and leadership attributes. All pupils are exposed to this programme, which encapsulates the Harrow experience, with incremental progression as students develop in age and awareness. Through the programme, our pupils develop the six key Leadership Attributes:
- Contributing positively to the community
- Applying knowledge with compassion
- Solving problems collaboratively
- Solving problems creatively
- Making fair and just choices
- Facing challenges with determination
In the Senior School, there is an expectation that the outreach and service programme is purposeful and increasingly student led. Ultimately, students will be global citizens, possessing international mindedness, and a clear understanding of the value of commitment and service to others.
