She is passionate about creating engaging learning experiences that help children develop confidence, curiosity and a love of learning. Four years ago, she moved to China to join Harrow Shenzhen, where she worked as an Upper School Science Teacher and Head of House. Alongside her love of Science teaching, Ms Crean has been passionate about swimming for many years and has worked as a swimming teacher and coach for the past 16 years. Dr Jack Reilly brings a wealth of experience in university guidance to Harrow Shanghai, having most recently served as Director of Higher Education at Highgate School, one of the UK’s leading independent schools and named Independent School of the Decade by the Sunday Times in 2020. During his tenure, Highgate consistently placed around 30 students at Oxford and Cambridge each year, with over 80% of A-level grades at A* or A. Jack holds a PhD in Political Theory from UCL, where he also completed his undergraduate degree and a Masters in Research, and trained as a teacher at Roehampton. He believes that the best university applications are built on genuine self-knowledge, developed over years rather than months, and is passionate about helping every student make the most compelling case for the university that is truly right for them.

Mr Ovayolu is a Computer Science educator with over ten years of teaching experience in the UK and China. Before joining Harrow Shanghai, he taught at one of the UK’s leading state schools and most recently at an international school in Hangzhou. Mr Ovayolu has extensive experience teaching KS3, KS4 and A Level Computer Science to students in both British and international educational settings. Alongside teaching, he has served as a form tutor and mentor for trainee teachers and has contributed to curriculum development across multiple year groups. He is passionate about digital innovation, artificial intelligence, and using technology to create engaging, meaningful and future-focused learning experiences for students.

Jessica Chou

Over the past eight years, I have taught in a range of secondary schools across London, working as a mathematics teacher and Key Stage 3 Coordinator. My teaching experience spans Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, working with students aged 11 to 18, including delivering Level 2 Further Mathematics, Core Mathematics, and A Level Mathematics. In addition to subject teaching, I have supported students pastorally as a form tutor, delivering PSHCE lessons and offering individual guidance. Daniel Allen

In 2019 I joined Rugby School Thailand as the Pre-Prep PE Lead and coached several football teams across the school. After two years in Thailand I returned to Spain,teaching Primary PE in Seville before moving to Harrow Shanghai.

David Coath

During my 8 years in International Education, working with students from China attending High School in Canberra, I obtained a Bachelor of Education. I spent 4 years as a Chinese Teacher setting up a new language program at Canberra Grammar School. During this time, I led 3 study tours to China for teachers and students, visiting important cultural and historical sites as well as spending time in schools. After taking time to travel around Australia with my family, I returned to my hometown of the Blue Mountains. There I spent the first two years teaching high school students a variety of subjects, with a particular focus on supporting students with English as an Additional Language. Passionate about Inclusion and educational equity for all students, I have been working for four years as a teacher of Students with Special Education Needs (SEN), taking on the role of Second in Charge SEN in 2023 and Head Teacher (relieving) SEN for a period in 2024.

As part of my teacher training in University, I have been in different schools in the UK and I have taught a range of children from 4-11 years old. I have now had two years of teaching experience in Year 2 and I have developed a curriculum to ensure that it reflects on the children’s needs and enable children to strive for achievement. I am passionate in establishing an inclusive environment where all children can enjoy learning, persevere through difficult times and to ensure that children gain a memorable and valuable education.

After five years’ service, I decided to return to my hometown, Shanghai. My main focus is teaching Chinese national curriculum, and developing school based language programmes.

I have been a director of fine and Performing Arts in China for five years, with a specialism in Drama of which I have taught for fourteen years. Prior to this, I taught in a primary school in the UK as a Music and Performing Arts coordinator, and I was also Director of performing arts in a UK secondary school. I took two years out of teaching to work for an Arts Council England funded company to bring arts projects to areas of artistic deprivation. I have worked with many professional theatre companies and am excited to bring a variety of creative skills to Harrow International School Shanghai.

My latest role was as the Director of Social Sciences, overseeing departments that managed subjects like Humanities, Business, Economics and Psychology. Before this I had the chance to create and lead Real-World Studies at the middle school level. Additionally, I took on the responsibility for Environ­mental and Sustainability initiatives across the entire school, stressing the impor­tance of sustainability. My impact extended beyond a single school, as I led a cluster of schools in the Middle East, sharing knowledge and fostering a commit­ment to sustainability.

I have been working at Harrow Shanghai for 6 years. I am also involved in teach­ing Chinese culture and language to Year 1 and Year 2. My main responsibility is designing the Chinese curriculum for the Early Years and incorporating English themes to enhance the children’s bilingual abilities. I create engaging Chinese lessons for the children and lay a solid foundation for their Chinese skills in Pre-Prep. Seeing the children enjoy my Chinese classes is the greatest reward for me.
