Once again, Harrow Shanghai students have delivered outstanding results, demonstrating the school’s continued academic excellence.

It is worth highlighting that 44% of Harrow Shanghai’s 2026 cohort achieved straight A*/A grades across all their subjects, with quite a few students achieving straight A*s! Let’s take a look at the stories of some of our students who achieved straight A*s.
Perseus W. ——University of Toronto, Maths
Perseus achieved a perfect set of four A* grades in his A-Level subjects, and received offers from the Department of Mathematics at Imperial College London and the University of Toronto. He ultimately chose to continue his studies at the University of Toronto.
As a full scholarship recipient at Harrow Shanghai, Perseus’s passion for mathematics has long extended beyond the classroom. In his spare time, he has led mathematics enrichment activities for younger students in the Primary Schools, sharing his genuine love of the subject with the next generation.
With an exceptional mind and a generous spirit of sharing, this is the kind of brilliance that truly shines in a Harrow student.
Rachel L. ——UCL, Biochemistry
Rachel achieved straight A*s across all four of her A-Level subjects, receiving offers from the University of Toronto and the University of Washington before ultimately choosing to study Biochemistry at University College London (UCL).
She is a recipient of both the Strutt Scholarship — Science Award and the Head Master Award at Harrow Shanghai. Her curiosity and dedication to the life sciences have been a constant throughout her time at Harrow. From every experiment in the laboratory to every question asked in the classroom, Rachel has shown that passion is the best guide to success.
John W. ——UCL, Mechanical Engineering
John’s story is a powerful testament to the transformative power of perseverance.
He joined Harrow Shanghai in Year 10 from a local public school. At first, he found it challenging to adapt to an entirely English teaching environment. With the dedicated support and guidance of his teachers, he overcame the language barrier step by step. From IGCSE to A-Level, he made remarkable progress, ultimately achieving straight A*s across four subjects and securing a place in the highly competitive field of Mechanical Engineering. He will soon begin his studies at University College London (UCL).
Archie H. ——Currently Applying to Leading Australian Universities
Archie transferred to Harrow Shanghai from Australia in Year 12. Faced with a new curriculum, he completed his A-Level programme in two years, achieving straight A*s across all his subjects and delivering an outstanding set of results. He is now applying to leading universities in Australia.

Chemistry & Maths · Expert Teachers, Small-Class Excellence
How rigorous are the sciences at Harrow Shanghai? Harrow Shanghai has a Chemistry teacher who holds both undergraduate and doctoral degrees from the University of Oxford and has also been involved in the University of Oxford’s interview process. In Mathematics, we reject a “drill-and-practice” approach. Instead, our teachers draw on years of experience analysing A-Level Mathematics examinations and provide personalised teaching through small class sizes. Whatever path students aspire to pursue in the future, Harrow Shanghai is where their journey begins.
