As we prepare to begin a new academic year at Harrow Shanghai, I am delighted to welcome all our pupils back after the summer break. Our returning staff and new colleagues have already been working hard to ensure that the school is ready for another exciting year of learning, challenge and opportunity.
We also have much to celebrate following our outstanding A-Level and IGCSE results this summer. These achievements are a wonderful reflection of the ambition, dedication and talent of our pupils, supported by our exceptional teachers and wider school community. I cannot wait to see our pupils back on campus and to begin the new year together.

This new academic year, Harrow Shanghai welcomes ten new teachers. Coming from different countries and regions, and bringing diverse professional backgrounds, they will bring their experience, passion and fresh perspectives into the classroom, while also becoming important companions in our students’ journeys of growth.

A Warm Welcome from the Head Master
As the new teachers officially begin their journey at Harrow Shanghai, they were warmly welcomed by Head Master.
Each teacher introduced themselves, sharing their educational experience and expectations. At the same time, the school prepared special Welcome Gifts for each of our new teachers.
A gift, an introduction — and from here, they officially became part of the Harrow Shanghai Community.

They explored every corner of the campus, familiarising themselves with the learning environments, school culture and daily operations across different sections of the school, while gaining a deeper understanding of the community they are about to become part of.

It is worth mentioning that every new student received a specially prepared Harrow welcome gift pack, filled with stationery, a school T-shirt, and a little warmth to welcome them to the Harrow community.

Every New Student Has a Buddy
When you arrive in an unfamiliar environment, what you often need most is someone to help you find your way and feel at home.
Therefore, Harrow Shanghai has prepared a Buddy for every new student. Through the Buddy System, new students can receive support and companionship from their peers as they begin their school life — from getting to know the campus and understanding their daily learning and routines, to joining their House and making new friends. So that every new student knows:
You are never alone at Harrow.
Meet Your Teachers
On 21 August, new students will also take an important step before the official start of the new term: Meet Teachers. Students will have the opportunity to have one-to-one conversations with their teachers. There are no tests and no grades — just a relaxed chat about their interests, their summer holidays, and what they are looking forward to in the new academic year. For new students joining the Upper School, they will also have a one-to-one conversation with their Tutor.

Spark Lab & Cooking Room
The newly refreshed Spark Lab and Cooking Room are ready to welcome our students.
More modern spaces and learning environments will provide students with more opportunities to explore, experiment and create. Here, learning does not only happen in books, but also through hands-on experiences and the courage to try something new.
10 Years of Harrow Shanghai
In 2026, Harrow Shanghai celebrates its 10th anniversary.
As you walk around the campus, you will also notice more and more 10th Anniversary elements. From campus spaces to new-term invitations, the mark of our 10th anniversary is gradually becoming part of everyday life at Harrow Shanghai.
Ten years is a milestone; for Harrow Shanghai, it also marks the beginning of the next chapter of our journey.
On 12 September, Harrow Shanghai’s 10th Anniversary Celebration will officially begin. We warmly invite you to join us on campus as we come together to celebrate this special milestone.
