Elite Sports Programme (ESP)
As part of the ongoing development of sport here at Harrow Shanghai, we are excited to be able to offer you and your children an enhanced range of elite and advanced coaching for those pupils who are interested in developing their skills and interests in specific areas.
This year, as well as expanding the Elite Sport Programme (ESP) for Prep-Prep, Prep and Senior students, we are proud to introduce the Early Years Sports Development Programme (EYSDP) which adds yet further to the activities being offered at Harrow, ensuring Harrow Plus caters for all our students.
Below is an overview of the sports and activities being offered this term:
Football is continuing to be coached at Harrow by the incredible team at Ebbe Sand Soccer Academy (ESSA). They offer sessions after school for our Year 1 to Year 12 pupils in groups of similar age and skill. We are also looking to offer a lunch time session this year to enable all our pupils to access a high level of coaching. For more information on the sessions available and prices, please contact Marti (email@example.com).
Here at Harrow, Tennis will continue to be coached by the inspirational coaches from CETA Tennis. We aim to continue the existing session on a Friday evening in the Sports Hall, for Years 1 to 4, and we are also looking to expand the use of CETA’s coaching prowess with some of our older pupils at SCSC. For more information on the sessions and prices, please contact Camilo (Camilo.firstname.lastname@example.org).
This term we are adding Badminton to the ESP, utilising the coaching experience of our very own Director of Sport, Mr Sleep. Mr Sleep has nearly a decade’s worth of experience coaching pupils to high levels of success in the UK. If you would like more details on the pricing of this activity, then please contact Mr Sleep (email@example.com). This activity will take place on a Tuesday after school, from 4.45pm to 6.00pm in the Sports Hall.
Fencing is one of the most traditional and quintessential pubic school sports in the UK. For pupils in Years 2 to 5 this term we are excited to be able to offer a lunch time session in the Sports Hall which will take place on Tuesdays with Wang Lei Fencing. For pricing and more information, please contact Mr Sleep (firstname.lastname@example.org).
This is, at present, our only form of martial art we have on offer at Harrow. Headmaster Changyong Yi will be coming in to school to take sessions for all ages on Thursdays. For more information please contact Mr Horsnell (email@example.com). This will also form part of the EYSDP.
Early Years Sports Development Programme (EYSDP)
These sessions will aim to develop the pupils in and all-round sporting capacity, with an emphasis on activity, basic skills, balance, agility and hand/eye coordination. This session will be led by one of our CETA coaches.
This term, we are pleased to be able to offer swimming on a Monday and Wednesday to a small number of students. This session will be taken by our very own Miss Gunn (Year 2) who is also a qualified swimming coach. Please note that places are limited due to safety in the pool being our paramount concern.
