It is at this time of the Summer Term that we look excitedly towards the start of a fresh academic year and to welcoming new families into our warm and loyal Harrow community. Overcoming campus restrictions, we recently held our New Families Welcome Afternoon at the beautiful Peony Gardens, close to the School, where parents who are about to embark on their Harrow journey with their child could meet the Head Master, key staff members, and of course other new families from the same year group and phase.
Presentations outlining many of the ingredients of the unique Harrow educational journey from Early Years to Sixth Form were given and there was plenty of time for questions and answers during the delightful afternoon tea whilst people met and mingled. We had families representing the full age-range from new Harrow Cubs to new Lower Sixth students who are coming in specifically to study within the A Level programme.
It was joyous and uplifting to share stories that help us get to know the personalities and characters of our new Harrovians, even before they arrive. The connections made between the families will of course flourish and deepen over time. All greatly enjoyed looking forward to all of the varied opportunities their children will have to explore their talents and to make the very most of all that wonderful Harrow has to offer in Shanghai and across the world. September can’t come quickly enough!
