Fellowship: Harrow Shanghai Community Donate Funds for Earthquake Relief in Gansu

Earlier this week, we all heard the terrible news that there had been a devastating earthquake in Gansu province. The earthquake led to over a hundred people losing their lives, and many more losing their homes, possessions and livelihoods.

This Christmas, Harrow Shanghai donated RMB 50,000 for the Gansu earthquake relief in the name of the Harrow Shanghai community, children, parents and staff, through the Shanghai Charity Foundation, which is under the guidance of the Shanghai government.  At the same time, parents and staff from the Harrow Shanghai community have generously contributed to join this compassionate support. In just past two days, a total of RMB 10,000 has been raised and donated.

“At this time of year, when we reflect with our families on the year that has passed, and think about the year to come, I know we are all thinking of those for whom Christmas and New Year will be harder than they could have imagined. At our school, we talk to our children and to each other about the values of fellowship, humility and honour. One small way we can demonstrate those values in action is to cast our thoughts to the west, and to send a little something that will help in a material way. My best wishes to you all for a happy family Christmas and New Year together.”
